This set of more than a hundred icons comes from Brand Spanking New, which has quickly become a desired collection for designers, as it contains greyscale icons, useful in nearly any type of project.

  • Package: 113 10×10 greyscale icons in .GIF format (.ZIP File).
  • License: Icons released under a Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 2.5 License, meaning that you can download the icons and use them for whatever you wish, including commercial work.  You can redistribute or modify them, provided you have a link/credit/attribution listed on your site.
  • Other: You are encouraged to make a donation to support the designer.

The icons produced by Fam Fam Fam are some of the most respected within the web development community.  Each icon is smooth, with a large variety available for nearly any project.  There is absolutely no cost, although a donation is recommended.

  • Price: Free
  • Package: 700 16×16 pixel icons in PNG format, totaling more than 1MB in size (ZIP File).
  • License: Released under the Creative Commons Attribution 2.5 License, meaning that you may use the set for any purpose, make any changes you’d like, as long as you place a link back to the release page in your credits, or on every page of your website.
  • Other: If you want to support the designer, you can donate a little money on the release page.

The Office Mouse Icons Set was designed specifically for Smashing Magazine by Niki Brown.  The icons were based on the designer’s pet mice that live in her office.  They were designed from a sketch and transfered into Illustrator.  If you are looking for a unique set of icons for your website or blog, and participate in the social media/networking movement, then these icons are for you!
